Misc: Sourie is a large adult male Au Ra covered in dark, boxy scales that protrude unusually from his elbows and spine ridge. One of his horns has been shattered, and he has collected a suspiciously large number of knotted scars and injuries on his upper torso and head, though the majority seem to have healed long ago.Most of the time, the xaela wears a mask or bandanna pulled up over the ruined remains of what was once his nose. While the wound is one of his most notable features, he seems unwilling to speak much on the topic when pressed, beyond making light jests and a quick subject change.
disposition
On first meeting; Sourie comes across as loud, jovial and cocksure - bordering on callous at times.
He enjoys making jests at the expense of others, throwing his (substantial) weight around, and coming on too strong.
He's a massive flirt and doesn't seem to take many matters seriously. His honeyed tongue can lavish compliments as well as barbed insults with sometimes unintentional ease. The sincerity behind the words also leaves a lot up to interpretation.
If you hang around Sourie for extended periods of time, you may notice the subtle, seemingly involuntary twitches that plague him. An occasional clench of snaggled teeth , the quaveringly tight grip of a clawed fist beneath the table, or his occasional labored exhale and darting glances towards the nearest exit of whatever room he's currently occupying.
He excuses himself frequently from social gatherings for breaks, disappearing for long periods of time with evening partners who seem to skip town once their various meetings and trysts have finished. Somehow you rarely see him with the same person twice.He seems well meaning enough despite it all, you suppose.
History
Most individuals will never know this information about Sourie. He is not a OC that openly or often shares his past. If you're just curious about him as a character though, this section is for you!Sourie hails from an extremely isolationist xaela tribe that went full swamp cult many generations before he was born. He is the youngest of 8 sons descended from the tribe's leader. He is the last remaining left alive of his brethren. (-as far as he knows ... and hopes.)
He survived a strenuous childhood where he was raised away from most 'modern' technology and culture, and thus has a hard time grasping certain concepts commonly understood by others - as well as being occasionally amazed or entertained by them.
His past with his old tribe isn't remembered fondly. His time and responsibilities mainly consisted of basic survival skills - fishing and the butchery of hunted creatures. Due to this Sourie is not keen on most animals he encounters, and barely understand the concept of 'pets' or 'mounts' outside livestock. If you can't eat it what's the point?While he was with his tribe, Sourie was deeply romantically involved with another member. He will avoid this topic at all costs and prying into it sends the xaela into a rage -- or worse, he shuts down completely.

• Sourie can't read well as he was never taught, though he is learning. It's one topic he's mildly embarrassed about and will do his best to hide.
• He seems to have no trouble living off the land and enjoys solitude.
• Weirdly passionate about fishing.
• Very food motivated, seems to be especially fond of sweets. Will accept almost any free food offered, A great way to get on his good side.
• Terrified of commitment, heights, and chocobos.
• Has a penchant for gold jewelry and an aversion to shirts.
• He is supposed to be a 'serial killer' type character, hence the reason why he is limited in his romantic availability. He can and will do harm if allowed.
• Can swim very well.
• Highly paranoid.
• Incredibly good at taking large amounts of damage and regenerating. Can re-grow fingers and parts of his limbs given enough time and care. In spite of this, he will avoid most confrontation unless it leads to something 'fun'.
• No magical ability in the slightest, any form of magic mildly confuses him.
• Weirdly good sense of smell for a dude with half a nose.
